Yes Oscar we certainly don't want our citizens to have health care. Health care should be part of the commons. Why not get rid of police, fire departments, roads etc.
The alternative I suggested in my letter was "things that allow the people to choose such as health savings accounts and health insurance vouchers". The alternatives I am suggesting provide real choice and competition and not just lip service choice and competition.
When I say NO on the healthcare bill I am saying NO to giving the government more power to control how to spend money because the government is not as effective as you and me at spending money.
With roads, police, fire, and military there is no simple way around giving the government power to spend money so all we can do is be vigilant and try and make sure our government spends our money wisely in these areas. However, with healthcare we have an opportunity to give control of spending decisions to individual people like you and me who are in a better position to determine the most effective way to spend money on things like health insurance and healthcare.
